Roatán is an island in the Caribbean, about 65 kilometers off the northern coast of Honduras. The largest of Honduras’ Bay Islands, it lies between Utila and Guanaja. It is approximately 59 kilometers long and less than 8 kilometers across at its widest point.
The Project Honduras Team was excited to jump on an early “puddle jumper” flight up to this island and get some beach time! As we stopped for lunch, we came upon a pristine, empty beach. It was utterly surreal and a real contrast from the missions we had previously been serving on.
This one day of R&R would give us the strength to start up a new mission field on the island,
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint” – Isaiah 40:31
