Mission Trip 2026ALF building

Today we visited the Abundant Life Foundation, with whom we are partnering in our service to Hondurans. This marks the first time in Project Honduras’s 11 years that we have served on the island of Roatán, where housing and education are the biggest hurdles. For this mission, our volunteers participated in construction and agriculture programs.

We were given a warm welcome by ALF, a tour of their community-building project, and access to their library and classroom. The larger group of volunteers stayed and prepared for the island’s upcoming 2026 Roatán Youth STEM Fair, while two smaller groups headed out to the nursery and construction site for some manual labor.

We are so excited that PH’s Editha Dunbar, who is a STEM Specialist, is leading the island’s first career fair of this kind. Project Honduras is also funding scholarships for two girls. Our theme for this event is simple but profound: Imagine It. Try It. Become It. This is not just a standard school event; it is a critical intervention point. For many of these students, this fair will be the very first time they meet a real STEM professional. Volunteers from Project Honduras US will come to share their own stories. They will look at the youth directly and show them that they can also create a better future.

Change a life today!
